Coupang boosts Wow Card rewards, with up to 75,000 won a month

[Financial News] Coupang is running a new promotion for its Coupang Wow Card in partnership with KB Kookmin Card Co., Ltd. and Visa, offering up to 75,000 won in rewards each month with no previous-month spending requirement.
Coupang said on the 26th that the promotion will run for six months, from November 1 through April 30 next year. It adds extra benefits for everyday spending, including convenience store and café purchases and overseas transactions, to the card’s existing rewards.
During the promotion, Coupang Wow Card customers can earn 3.5% of the amount they spend at Coupang, Coupang Eats and Coupang Play as Coupang Cash, with no previous-month spending requirement. The rate includes the standard 2% reward plus an additional 1.5% promotional reward, with monthly earnings capped at 35,000 won. Customers can also earn 1% on purchases at online and offline partner merchants, up to 10,000 won per month.
The promotion also introduces extra rewards for purchases at convenience stores and cafés, as well as overseas transactions. Customers who pay at any of Korea’s four major convenience store chains—GS25, CU Convenience Store (CU), 7-Eleven and emart24—will earn an additional 1%, up to 10,000 won per month. Customers can also earn an additional 1% at major coffee chains such as Starbucks, A Twosome Place and Mega MGC Coffee, as well as at independent cafés.
With the existing and new benefits combined, Coupang Wow Card customers can earn up to 75,000 won in Coupang Cash each month. Alongside the expanded benefits, Coupang also unveiled three new card designs reflecting everyday rewards at places such as convenience stores and cafés.
The Coupang Wow Card, a private-label credit card (PLCC) launched in October 2023, has attracted millions of customers to date.
A Coupang spokesperson said, “We prepared this promotion with a commitment to continually innovate and expand the Coupang Wow Card program,” adding, “We will continue working to provide more benefits that customers can enjoy in their everyday lives.”
