[Financial News] Visang Education said on the 26th that its employees had reduced the use of disposable cups by 2,800 over nine weeks and donated money raised by collecting spare change from their salaries to an environmental organization.
Visang Education donated 4 million won, raised through the voluntary participation of its employees, to the K-Green Foundation’s “Honey Forest, Bee Forest” campaign, a biodiversity conservation initiative. The donation was raised by employees collecting spare change from their salaries, with the internal organizational culture group “Bibami” taking the lead. Visang Education is participating for the second consecutive year, following last year.
Employees’ everyday efforts to act in an environmentally friendly way have also paid off. Over the past nine weeks, Visang Education ran the “My Green Green Ground V” campaign to encourage the use of tumblers, meeting its goal of reducing disposable cup use by 2,800 cups.
The donation will be used to secure food sources for pollinating insects, including honeybees, and to create forests that help sustain healthy cycles in urban ecosystems.
Park Byeong-geun, head of Visang Education’s Talent Development Core Division, said, “It is meaningful that our employees have contributed to environmental protection by using tumblers in their everyday lives and collecting spare change from their salaries.” He added, “We will continue to foster an environmentally friendly organizational culture and social contribution activities in which our members take part directly.”
