11th Hongcheon Apple Festival: 5,000 won off 5-kg boxes; 2-kg bags for 10,000 won

【Financial News, Hongcheon = Kim Gi-seop, reporter】A three-day discount market where visitors can buy apples grown in Hongcheon for 5,000 won less than usual will be held at the 11th Hongcheon Apple Festival.
According to Hongcheon County on the 26th, locally grown apples will be sold at special discounted prices during the 11th Hongcheon Apple Festival, which will be held from November 6 to 8 at Tori Forest Urban Forest Park in Hongcheon-eup. The discounted prices will apply only during the three days of the festival.
At the festival, all apples will be sold for 5,000 won less than their regular prices. Per 5-kg box, Fuji and Shinano Gold are priced from 30,000 to 70,000 won, depending on variety and size, while Gamhong is priced from 35,000 to 75,000 won.
Two-kilogram bags of apples are also available for visitors who find buying a box burdensome. The bags are sold at a flat price of 10,000 won regardless of variety, so visitors can choose and fill them with the apples they want.
The county plans to ease the burden of buying apples through this sale, enabling more visitors to try Hongcheon apples and helping boost local apple consumption and farm household incomes. The festival venue will also feature displays of apple varieties and various promotional and hands-on experience booths, giving families a range of attractions to enjoy alongside their apple purchases.
Yun Seon-hwa, director of the Hongcheon County Agricultural Technology Center, said, “Since these prices are available only during the three-day festival, this is a great opportunity to get high-quality Hongcheon apples for 5,000 won less. Along with buying apples, I hope you’ll also look around the variety displays and hands-on experience booths and make happy memories with the whole family.”
