[Financial News] Ahead of the introduction of the electronic shareholder meeting system next January, an integrated platform has opened to support the entire process of exercising voting rights, from advance electronic voting to online voting on the day of a shareholder meeting.
KSD said on the 26th that it launched eVOP (pronounced “ee-bop”; Electronic Voting Platform), a new comprehensive platform for electronic voting, last week.
eVOP supports both advance electronic voting, conducted through the day before a shareholder meeting, and voting in the electronic meeting hall on the day of the meeting, all on one platform.
KSD’s existing electronic voting system, K-VOTE, has also been integrated into eVOP. Companies and shareholders can use the existing advance electronic voting services on eVOP, and from January 1 next year, when the amended Commercial Act takes effect, they will also be able to use services related to electronic shareholder meetings.
Individual shareholders can use eVOP after registering as new members. Existing K-VOTE members—including corporate shareholders, institutional investors, and issuing companies—can use eVOP without a separate registration process.
eVOP supports foreign shareholders’ participation in electronic shareholder meetings and offers video integration within the platform, as well as voice-based questions and comments from shareholders. It also supports joint authentication, financial certificates, and 13 types of simple authentication.
KSD plans to hold a ceremony with the Ministry of Justice on the 4th of next month to mark the introduction of electronic shareholder meetings and the launch of the platform. It will also hold a seminar for shareholder-meeting staff at large listed companies required to hold electronic shareholder meetings, introducing the administering body and covering legal issues.
