[Financial News] Busan City will host a familiarization tour, inviting prominent MICE figures from nine Asian countries to showcase Busan’s excellent international conference infrastructure and distinctive event offerings.
Busan City and the Busan Tourism Organization (BTO) announced on the 26th that they would host the familiarization tour “Meet in Busan (MEET IN BUSAN)” for prominent overseas MICE buyers, at facilities within the Haeundae International Conference Complex and distinctive local attractions.
About 20 prominent overseas MICE buyers and around 60 domestic participants, including member companies of the Busan MICE Alliance (BMA), will take part in the event, which runs through the 27th.
The city will hold a welcome luncheon and a city-promotion briefing at the Westin Josun Busan at noon that day.
The overseas buyers are coming from nine countries and regions: Thailand, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines. The group consists of representatives from professional conference organizers and associations, as well as travel agencies that plan corporate incentive trips.
At the welcome luncheon and city-promotion briefing, the city plans to showcase Busan’s MICE infrastructure, including the Haeundae International Conference Complex, and the city’s competitiveness, while laying the groundwork for business cooperation through exchanges between overseas buyers and local industry.
The city is continuing efforts to expand its networks with domestic and international MICE stakeholders and global companies, and to market Busan as a destination for international conferences and corporate incentive events.
The city has promoted Busan’s competitiveness to global companies and MICE stakeholders by, among other things, taking part in IMEX, a MICE trade show held in Germany this year; hosting a Busan-only MICE roadshow in Beijing, China; and operating a Busan promotional pavilion at the “2026 World Direct Selling Conference.”
The city plans to take part in the Korea MICE Expo, to be held in Seoul this coming November, strengthen its networks with domestic and overseas buyers, and continue marketing linked to this familiarization tour to attract events, accelerating efforts to bring in more international conferences and corporate incentive events.
