According to industry sources on the 26th, Celltrion’s U.S. subsidiary signed an exclusive supply agreement earlier this month with a major local healthcare company for Omlyclo in prefilled syringe (PFS) form and all formulations of Avtozma (IV and SC). The company has hospitals, insurers and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), enabling it to link insurance reimbursement with supply to healthcare institutions.
The two products were selected over the originator drugs for exclusive supply, with supply and insurance reimbursement beginning this month. They have been listed as preferred drugs on the insurer’s formulary and will also be supplied to its affiliated healthcare institutions. Celltrion has built a working relationship with the company through the supply of its existing bone disease treatments, Stoboclo and Osenvelt.
Omlyclo has also secured a supply deal with a major U.S.-based global distributor. Sales have begun at pharmacies inside stores operated by the company, and the product has entered an insurance channel used by about 350,000 employees enrolled in its health plan. With the exception of prescriptions for some vial formulations, Omlyclo was listed as the sole preferred drug, ahead of the originator.
Celltrion has also established a foothold in the cash-pay market. Omlyclo has been added to a drug discount program offered by a distributor for around 74 million members. People without insurance and their dependents can also buy the product at discounted prices from the company and its partner pharmacies.
Celltrion is negotiating with multiple major PBMs to have its new products added to their formularies and expects to conclude agreements in the fourth quarter. If additional listings are secured, the company expects its U.S. insurance reimbursement channels to expand, broadening its prescribing base.
Celltrion’s U.S. subsidiary CEO Kim Bon-jung said, "We will turn supply agreements into actual prescriptions and sales growth, and quickly finalize formulary listings with major PBMs currently under negotiation to broaden the growth foundation for our new products in the U.S."
