[Financial News] Hankook Tire will supply the ‘Ventus S1 evo Z’ as original-equipment tires for the new Porsche Panamera in all sizes from 19 to 21 inches. Following the 911 Carrera in July this year, the company plans to expand the range of models it supplies to include the Panamera, continuing its collaboration with Porsche’s major model lineup.
On the 26th, Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) said it would supply the Ventus S1 evo Z as original-equipment (OE) tires for the new Porsche Panamera. The 21-inch size has now been added to the 19- and 20-inch sizes Hankook Tire has supplied for the car, giving the tire a full range of sizes from 19 to 21 inches.
Hankook Tire said it designed the tire to support both the Panamera’s ride comfort and driving performance. In addition to standard approval tests for vehicles in that class, it also conducted a maximum-speed driving test at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife. Hankook Tire said the test confirmed the tire’s structural durability and its ability to handle high-performance driving.
The newly added 21-inch sizes are 275/35 ZR21 for the front and 325/30 ZR21 for the rear. The 19- and 20-inch sizes, which have been supplied since 2021, will also be used on the new model, and Porsche’s exclusive approval mark ‘ND0’ will be engraved on the sidewall of every size.
The tread has an asymmetric pattern. Hankook Tire said three main grooves on the inner side help drain water on wet roads, while a greater proportion of blocks on the outer side improves cornering and grip on dry roads. The dual-carcass structure, which uses aramid hybrid fibers, reduces tire deformation caused by heat during high-speed driving to maintain steering performance. High-strength steel belts and beads, along with reinforced sidewalls, are also used.
Meanwhile, Hankook Tire has supplied original-equipment tires for major Porsche models since 2015, starting with the Macan and later including the Cayenne, Taycan and 718 Boxster. In July this year, it also supplied tires for the 911 Carrera.
