On the 26th, Hyundai Motor Company announced that the 'The New Elantra N TCR' (known in Korea as The New Elantra N TCR) won the seventh round of the '2026 TCR World Tour,' held from the 23rd to the 25th at Zhejiang Circuit in Zhejiang Province, China. Zhejiang Circuit is a 3.2-kilometer counterclockwise track with 16 corners. Hyundai Motor Company said that strategic management is important because the track is short and has many consecutive corners.
Azcona of 'BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse' finished first in the first final on the 24th and the third final on the 25th. He placed 14th in the second final. He earned 60 points from his two wins, 2 points from the second final and 10 points in qualifying, adding 72 points in total this round. His teammate Michelisz finished second in all three finals, earning 90 points, including 15 from qualifying. The team held on to second place in the overall team standings with 863 points through this round.
The TCR World Tour prohibits manufacturers from competing directly. It is a 'customer racing' competition in which professional racing teams that have bought manufacturers' race cars compete. Hyundai Motor Company did not compete directly; rather, a team using Hyundai race cars won. Hyundai Motor Company said there are about 40 TCR series competitions worldwide, combining continental and national events, and that up to 650 drivers take part in each event.
The eighth round, which is also the season finale, will be held in Macau from November 19 to 22. A Hyundai Motor Company official said, "We are pleased to be in a favorable position to win the championship ahead of the Macau finale," adding, "We will do our best through the end of the season to claim the title."
