[Financial News] SMOE took into account students’ own creative process in judging the AI-use category of its student art exhibition—not just the generated images, but also how students took the lead by writing, revising and editing prompts themselves. The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education said on the 26th that it is holding the “2026 Mindscape AI Art Exhibition,” showcasing works selected through this judging from students at elementary, middle, high and special schools in its jurisdiction.
The first in-person exhibition runs through the 30th on the first floor of the Second Seoul Creative Arts Education Center in Seongdong-gu. It features framed, physical two-dimensional paintings (hand-drawn works) and a rotating on-screen display of AI-assisted digital works. The second exhibition will be held November 4–6 in a special exhibition hall at the “2026 Seoul Student Arts Mongttang Festival,” which takes place at SMOE’s new headquarters. The virtual gallery “Forest of Arts” in SMOE’s metaverse space is open for viewing at any time, without restrictions of time or place.
The exhibition was planned around the theme “In the Age of AI, I Draw My Heart.” Its categories are two-dimensional painting, digital painting and AI-assisted digital works. The exhibition aims to help students understand themselves and communicate with others as they express their emotions and inner worlds through art.
SMOE Superintendent Geun-sik Chung said, “This exhibition is a meaningful opportunity for students to share with the world the thoughts and feelings each of them holds, in the language of art.” He added, “I applaud the student artists who have looked into their own hearts and expanded the possibilities of expression by engaging with AI as a new creative tool, and I will continue to support students so they can understand one another and grow together through art.”
