[Financial News] Actress Lee Da-hae explained that her recently changed appearance, which sparked plastic surgery rumors, was due to styling by local teams in China and photo retouching. She said that even she sometimes finds the way she looks in photos unfamiliar.
In photos she recently shared while working in China, Lee Da-hae presented a different look from before. She said her makeup and hairstyle changed as she worked with local staff, and that she often receives photos after they have been retouched.
On the 24th, Lee Da-hae wrote on her social media (SNS), “When I’m working in China, I work with local stylists and hair and makeup artists.”
She said local staff also handle the photography and retouching. Lee Da-hae said, “The staff who take the photos are all local, and I often receive the pictures after they’ve been retouched,” adding that there are looks that feel “unfamiliar even to me.”
After Lee Da-hae shared photos taken in China, people online commented that her appearance looked different from before. Some called her look a “Chinese-style face,” referring to her glamorous makeup and sharply defined features, while others raised suspicions that she had undergone plastic surgery.
Lee Da-hae said that, unlike in the past when she worked with stylists she knew well, she has recently enjoyed collaborating with new staff. “I used to think it would be a big problem if I didn’t have the hair and makeup artists I always worked with,” she said. “Now I’m enjoying working with new people and seeing my look gradually change.”
Regarding her changed appearance, she said, “Rather than wondering which country’s style it is, I hope you’ll see it as the different sides of me expressed in new ways each time.” She asked people to accept her varied looks as they are rather than classify them by national style.
On the 18th, Lee Da-hae also appeared as a guest on a Singles’ Day livestream shopping broadcast held in Hangzhou, China. At the time, she was full-term and about a month away from giving birth.
The livestream reportedly generated about 20 billion won in sales over roughly two hours. Lee Da-hae also described it at the time as “a place where sales hit 20 billion won in just two hours.”
Lee Da-hae married singer Seven in 2023 after dating him for eight years. She announced her pregnancy in May this year and is due to give birth in November.
