[Financial News] Speeches President Lee Jae Myung delivered on major stages at home and abroad during his first year in office, along with messages posted on social networking services (SNS), have been brought together in a single book. It offers a look at the direction and milestones of President Lee’s governance over the past year, from his agenda when he took office to his positions on major policy issues.
The Blue House published ‘President Lee Jae Myung’s Collection of Speeches (Volume 1)’ on the 25th. The 386-page volume includes major remarks by President Lee and photographs documenting his government activities from June last year through May this year.
The collection includes messages delivered at major events, beginning with his oath of office and covering last August’s Liberation Day celebration, the G20 summit in November, this February’s groundbreaking ceremony for the Southern Inland Railway, and the May 18 Democratization Movement commemoration ceremony in May this year. The Blue House says the book offers a glimpse into his governing philosophy, based on communication with the public and social integration, as well as fairness, trust and pragmatism.
In particular, it also traces the pursuit of five major policy goals under the national vision President Lee put forward after taking office: ‘A country where the people are sovereign, a Republic of Korea where everyone is happy together.’ The goals are political integration, an innovative economy, balanced growth, stronger social safety nets, and diplomacy and security centered on the national interest.
The collection was produced not only as a print book but also as an e-book incorporating video and audio features. Selecting an individual speech in the e-book lets readers watch footage of its live broadcast from the time it was delivered.
