[Financial News] Samsung C&T Corporation's construction division has been selected as the contractor for the remodeling of the Banpo Prugio apartment complex in Seoul's Seocho District, and will formally unveil its next-generation remodeling initiative.
Samsung C&T Corporation said on the 25th that the Banpo Prugio Apartment Remodeling Association finalized its selection of Samsung C&T as the contractor at a meeting held on the 24th. The project will remodel an apartment complex of three buildings, with a total of 237 households, located near 4 Sinbanpo-ro 15-gil in Seoul's Seocho District. The buildings range from two basement levels to 12 above-ground floors, and a five-story community facility will also be newly built. The total construction cost is about 125 billion won.
In particular, this is the first project site to apply 'Next Remodeling,' an innovative residential solution unveiled by Samsung C&T last year. Upon completion, it will be reborn as a premium 'Raemian' complex.
Samsung C&T proposed 'Raemian Aspel Banpo (RAEMIAN ASPEL BANPO)' as the new complex name. Inspired by the Latin word 'Aspirare,' meaning aspiration and purpose, the name embodies the ambition to set a higher standard of living.
The complex's exterior will feature a signature design that unfolds panoramically along Sinbanpo-ro. Deeply textured stone finishes and meticulous details across every floor of the residential buildings will underscore their elegance. The newly built community building will combine a modern curtain-wall facade with a rooftop garden to create a stylish cityscape in downtown Banpo.
The specialized floor plans and community facilities will also be significantly enhanced. Residents will be able to choose, according to the association members' preferences, between the 'Suite Type,' with an enhanced master zone, and the 'Lounge Type,' which places the kitchen and dining area at the front. Sliding doors and fully built-in furniture and appliances will maximize the use of space. The community facilities will provide about 8.9 square meters per household, including a five-story main community facility above ground—with a welcome lounge, golf lounge and private party room, among other amenities—and private underground amenities such as pet care and a music-listening room.
Energy efficiency will be improved with the 'Green Shield' exterior system, which incorporates exterior insulation and a colored building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) system, while a sound-insulating floor structure designed specifically for remodeling will maximize residential performance. The company also plans to combine its advanced service platforms—including the 'Homeniq' smart-home platform, the 'Evering' senior-living solution and an 'AI Wellness Solution'—to deliver a future-oriented lifestyle.
Kim Myeong-seok, vice president and head of Samsung C&T Corporation's Housing Product Marketing Division, said, "We will successfully carry out the Banpo Prugio apartment remodeling project and deliver distinctive residential value to the association members." He added, "As the first project site for Next Remodeling, it will serve as a bridgehead for the future expansion of a new urban regeneration market."
