[Financial News] LOTTE E&C employees and their family members shared warmth with neighbors by delivering crops they had harvested themselves and flower baskets they had carefully made.
LOTTE E&C said on the 25th that it held a ‘Green Farm’ volunteer activity over two days, on September 19 and October 24, at gardens in the Gaehwa-dong area of Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
About 80 members of the ‘Charlotte Volunteer Group,’ made up of LOTTE E&C employees and their family members, took part in the activity. They harvested sweet potatoes and other crops themselves at the ‘Green Farm’ garden and made flower baskets. The items, prepared with care, are scheduled to be delivered to local residents through the Deungchon 4 Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
Shin Hye-won, an assistant manager at LOTTE E&C who took part in the volunteer activity, said, “It was a meaningful event that made me think once again about the environment and our neighbors as we harvested eco-friendly crops to share with local residents and made flower baskets to give as gifts.”
‘Green Farm’ is an eco-friendly program run by the Deungchon 4 Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. The therapeutic agriculture initiative operates a garden to help residents from vulnerable groups recover their physical and mental health. Since establishing the ‘Green Farm’ garden in 2024, LOTTE E&C has carried out annual community-sharing activities, aiming to reconnect with the value of living alongside neighbors by working the soil and harvesting crops.
Meanwhile, this activity was funded by the ‘Charlotte Volunteer Fund,’ established through a ‘1:3 matching grant’ scheme under which the company contributes three times the amount donated each month by all executives and employees to give back to society.
