[Financial News]  Chef Yoon Nam-no, 36, revealed that he earned 800,000 won last month after taking out a loan of about 600 million won to open a restaurant. He also said his credit card bill for the month came to 5 million won because he bought meals for his employees.
In a video released on the YouTube channel 'Studio Slam' on the 19th, Yoon Nam-no brought up his income and expenses while cooking camping food with chef Park Hyo-nam, one of South Korea's 10 master chefs.
After Yoon Nam-no said he did not save money, Park Hyo-nam recommended that he open an installment savings account. Yoon disclosed his income, saying, "I don't get a salary. I made 800,000 won last month."
Park Hyo-nam stressed to Yoon Nam-no that business owners, too, should receive a regular salary, saying, "It's not just employees who should get paid; the owner should have a salary too."
They also discussed his food expenses for the month. Yoon Nam-no said, "My credit card bill came to 5 million won for food," adding, "That was for meals I bought for my employees. It wasn't just for me."
Park Hyo-nam again emphasized the need to save regularly, advising him, "Whether it's 1 million or 2 million won, set yourself a salary and put it into an installment savings plan."
Yoon Nam-no had previously said on another variety show that he borrowed about 600 million won to open a restaurant. At the time, he said of his salary, "I don't have a salary because I have loan interest to pay."
Yoon Nam-no rose to fame on Netflix's cooking competition show 'Culinary Class Wars,' where he appeared under the nickname 'Cooking Maniac.'
