‘Bukangi’ Comes to ChatGPT for Kakao... Busan City to Give Away 16 Free Emoticons

[Financial News] Bukangi, who appeared at Busan’s waterfront park and won many fans, will meet residents again as ChatGPT for Kakao emoticons. Since first being spotted in an artificial waterway at North Port Waterfront Park on the 18th of last month, Bukangi has stayed there for more than a month, drawing over 1.6 million visitors.
Busan City announced on the 25th that, starting at 2 p.m. on the 26th, it would give away 16 ChatGPT for Kakao emoticons featuring Bukangi, titled ‘Sharkfluencer Bukangi Has Arrived in Busan!’, free to the first 50,000 users so they can enjoy Bukangi in their everyday lives.
The animated emoticons, created by city officials, feature Bukangi in a variety of expressions and movements. They vividly capture phrases commonly used in everyday conversations and witty actions, adding to the fun.
The offer is open to users who newly add the city’s official ChatGPT for Kakao channel. The emoticons can be used for 30 days from the date they are downloaded.
Anyone can also download the newly created emoticon images for free from the ‘Digital Goods’ section of the city’s website and use them as smartphone or computer wallpapers with no time limit, or print them out as stickers.
The city plans to continue expanding its fun and relatable content featuring Bukangi and strengthen communication with residents.
City spokesperson Oh Mi-kyung said, “We prepared Bukangi emoticons that people can enjoy in everyday conversations, in response to the interest and affection residents have shown us.” She added, “Going forward, we will continue to bring residents joy with a variety of content featuring Bukangi and make city government news more accessible.”
