【Financial News, Inje—Staff Writer Kim Gi-seop】A distinctive festival that brought riding and local tourism together wrapped up its two-day program, with around 1,000 motorcycles riding around the Inje Speedium circuit and along autumn mountain roads.
The GWTO said on the 25th that it held the Road Spirit Motorcycle Festa from the 23rd to the 24th in the area around Inje Speedium, together with Gangwon State and Inje County. Through the event, the organization showcased distinctive tourism content featuring motorcycles and laid the groundwork for generating new tourism demand by linking Misiryeong Healing Road with tourism resources in Inje County. It plans to continue developing themed tourism content that makes the most of local characteristics and contribute to revitalizing local tourism.
On the first day, the 23rd, singer Kim Yon-ja, Angel Noise, peek, Jang Tae-ung and others took the stage, building up the pre-festival atmosphere. On the 24th, various hands-on programs followed, beginning with the opening ceremony and a circuit parade.
Experience rides and sport riding programs were offered on the circuit, giving participants a taste of the thrill of riding the track themselves. Promotional booths and experience zones for motorcycle brands including Harley-Davidson, KTM and QJ MOTO were set up, while the Lara Classic Micro Racer experience, a turtle race, visits to the classic car museum, go-kart rides and food trucks attracted visitors.
A motorcycle traffic safety seminar was also held during the event, where experts gave presentations and held discussions on traffic safety for two-wheeled vehicles and ways to improve road-use conditions. The seminar was seen as a forum for discussing how to foster a safe riding culture and create a reasonable road-use environment.
“Those two days, when around 1,000 motorcycles rode together on the circuit and autumn mountain roads, showed that riding and local tourism can be brought together successfully,” an official with the GWTO said. “We will carefully review the ideas raised at the traffic safety seminar, strengthen a safe riding culture, continue expanding themed programs that connect Misiryeong Healing Road with Inje County’s tourism resources, and share the appeal of Gangwon State with more people.”
