[Today's Webtoon] Romance with the male leads in my novel... 'I Ended Up in the Same Class as Crazy Male Leads'

[Financial News] From the top student in the school to a popular guy with a charmingly affectionate side and a promising national-team swimmer: these men look attractive on the surface, but each has issues when you get to know him. The webtoon 'I Ended Up in the Same Class as Crazy Male Leads' is a school romantic comedy about a protagonist who enters a novel she wrote in the past and gets entangled with three men with strong personalities.
After being in a truck accident, the protagonist wakes up inside the novel she wrote as a high-school senior. She dreams of an ordinary school life, but the world she has entered is far from a normal romance. Since she knows what the characters she created in the past are really like, she thinks the safest thing is to avoid getting involved with them.
Kang Seon-u is the school's top student, well-mannered and academically outstanding. On the surface, he is a model student with no apparent flaws, but his real personality is the opposite of what he seems. Cha I-han has a delinquent-looking appearance but is full of charm and affection. However, he shows a particularly needy side around the female protagonist. Kim Chan-seung is a promising national-team swimmer, but he is intensely obsessed with the female protagonist. When three men with such different personalities all enter the protagonist's daily life at once, the story takes an unexpected turn.
The protagonist's goal is simple: since she knows what happens in the original story, she wants to avoid the male leads and live quietly. But one by one, the three men show interest in her, almost as if mocking her plan. Comedy comes from the crossed wires between the protagonist, who tries to avoid them as they approach saying they want to be friends, and the men, who are trying to get closer to her. In the end, the protagonist's knowledge of the original story only makes things more awkward in real life.
The work brings out the appeal of the reverse-harem genre through the three men's differing personalities and the protagonist's reactions. It goes beyond a setup in which several male characters show interest in one protagonist, using the contrasts between each character's outward image and inner self as sources of conflict. The key points to watch are how their distinct personalities emerge in their relationships with the protagonist—from the model student's surprising true nature and the affection-starved side hidden behind his charm to the promising athlete's obsession.
The original web novel has recorded at least 10 million cumulative views and a rating of 9.8 on Kakao Page. The webtoon adaptation was written by Haemin and illustrated by Sombe, while the original novel was written by Hayum.
