[Financial News] Woori Financial Group’s Woori Financial Future Foundation will help cover the cost of replacing eco-friendly boilers for 100 vulnerable households in Dongjak-gu. The initiative aims to reduce heating costs and improve winter living conditions by providing high-efficiency boilers.
According to the financial sector on the 25th, the Woori Financial Future Foundation donated 30 million won on the 23rd, in partnership with Dongjak-gu Office and the Seoul Metropolitan Council on Social Welfare, to support the replacement of eco-friendly boilers in 100 vulnerable households in Dongjak-gu.
The project is being carried out in cooperation with Dongjak-gu, which is continuing to support boiler replacements with its own budget even after the government’s national subsidy for eco-friendly boilers ended. Dongjak-gu Office will cover part of the installation costs, while the Woori Financial Future Foundation will use its 30 million won donation to cover the households’ out-of-pocket costs. The Seoul Metropolitan Council on Social Welfare is also participating in the project.
Eco-friendly boilers are more energy-efficient than conventional boilers, helping reduce heating costs and air pollutant emissions.
Jang Gwang-ik, secretary-general of the Woori Financial Future Foundation, said, “I hope this support will ease the burden of boiler replacement costs for vulnerable households and help them have a warm winter.” He added, “We will continue to work with local communities to improve living conditions for vulnerable households and carry out social contribution activities that provide practical help.”
Meanwhile, Woori Financial Group is working to expand inclusive finance across the group. One year after launching its Future Partnership Growth Project, Woori Financial had provided 34.7 trillion won in productive and inclusive financing. Of that, 1.4 trillion won was in inclusive financing. In November, the Woori Financial Future Foundation plans to provide winter supplies, including winter blanket sets and electric heating mats, to vulnerable people in Seoul.
