[Financial News] Soongsil University startup club Synergy is teaming up with a promising technology company to take on hands-on marketing in the field. Soongsil University announced on the 23rd that Synergy had signed an MOU with Watts Lab Co., Ltd., a company developing physical AI.
Under the agreement, Synergy members will spend eight weeks, through November 22, developing and implementing marketing and promotional strategies to raise awareness of Watts Lab’s brand and support its entry into the market. Rather than stopping at simply proposing ideas, they will take charge of the entire process, from analyzing the company to executing the strategies and presenting the results.
Watts Lab, the company partnering on the project, develops AirGlove Atlas, a glove-shaped device that conveys tactile sensations to the fingers. Last August, it was selected for TIPS, a technology startup support program run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Shin Yu-chan, a student in the Department of Venture and Small Business (class of 2026) who took part in the project, said, “I learned that when promoting a company to other businesses, the key is to generate inquiries from companies that are actually willing to buy the product, rather than simply making its name known.” Shin added, “For the remainder of the project, I’ll do my best to find potential customers and turn them into actual contracts and sales.”
Song Hye-won, technology director at Watts Lab, said, “We hope the students’ fresh perspectives and ideas will help make our technology more widely known in the market.” Song added, “I hope the company and the students will discover new possibilities and grow together.”
Meanwhile, Soongsil University startup club Synergy, which has been active since 1995, plans to expand opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience with launching startups and business operations in the field through ongoing partnerships with companies.
