[Financial News] Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa, who rose to popularity after appearing in Season 2 of Netflix’s cooking competition show Culinary Class Wars and on JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, has been promoted to an executive at Shinsegae Group.
According to News 1 and other outlets on the 23rd, Shinsegae Group announced that, in its 2027 regular executive reshuffle, it promoted Chef Narisawa, head chef of Eatanic Garden and L'Amant Secret at Josun Hotels & Resorts, to the position of professional executive.
A professional executive is a position given to talent recognized for expertise and achievements in a specific field. Among the 36 newly promoted executives, Chef Narisawa is the only one selected as a professional executive.
The Korean restaurant Eatanic Garden at Josun Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul Gangnam, and the Western restaurant L'Amant Secret at L'Escape Hotel, both led by Chef Son, each received one Michelin star in the Michelin Guide Seoul & Busan 2026, announced this year.
Eatanic Garden earned its first star in the Michelin Guide Seoul 2023 and has retained one star for four consecutive years through this year. L'Amant Secret was first awarded a Michelin star in 2021 and has maintained its star for six consecutive years through this year.
After building his career at renowned U.S. restaurants such as COI and Quince, Chef Narisawa joined L'Amant Secret as executive chef when L'Escape Hotel opened in 2018. Since 2022, he has also served as head chef of Eatanic Garden.
A Shinsegae Group official told EToday, “We highly valued the achievement of significantly boosting the company’s brand value and culinary competitiveness through the two restaurants’ continued Michelin stars, global collaborations, and active television presence.” The official added, “We will continue pursuing HR innovations that enable talent with hands-on expertise to keep growing.”
