[Financial News] Busan City and Busan Techno Park (TP) said they will open the Second Busan Fashion Market Pop-Up Store at the central plaza of Shinsegae Centum City Department Store for 10 days, from the 23rd through the 1st of next month.
The event was organized to give local fashion brands a chance to meet consumers directly at a department store, showcase their products and sell them. Following the first pop-up store held in June, this event will feature 25 brands, including emerging designer labels affiliated with the Busan Fashion Creative Studio and brands participating through the Busan-Gyeongnam Fashion and Sewing Industry Cooperative.
Visitors will be able to compare designs and products from various local brands in one place, browse items that suit their tastes and make purchases. The event is expected to offer a chance to discover local brands that can add a new style to everyday life, with a wide range of items for sale, including womenswear, menswear, bags and accessories.
A total of 15 brands from the Busan Fashion Creative Studio will participate: Yusim, Shai, Ekra, Wieolnatbaiteu, Kunikeu, Kamamoe, Anporeumel, Reikeuraek, Diadem, Pahoe, Aieonil, OQO, Aueo, Sotie and Sensual Chic. Each brand plans to showcase products reflecting its own distinctive character and broaden its reach among consumers.
Ten companies will participate through the Busan-Gyeongnam Fashion and Sewing Industry Cooperative: Flow Homme, Rionbe, Yaryu, Mongmongteu, Neonweeo, Kkommakkomma, Obeudieomin, Hipihauseu and Modabi. Through the event, the cooperative plans to foster emerging designers and expand sales opportunities for local fashion companies.
Shim Jae-un, director of Busan Techno Park, said, “For local brands to grow, opportunities to meet consumers directly and expand sales channels are as important as creating competitive products.” He added, “Our organization will also provide behind-the-scenes support so that this Busan Fashion Market can give citizens the pleasure of discovering new brands and participating companies an opportunity to prepare for their next stage of growth.”
Busan City has been identifying and nurturing emerging local fashion designers since 2015 through its Busan Fashion Creative Studio operation program. The program provides startup space, consulting and support for developing sales channels at home and abroad, helping designers’ creative work lead to brand operations and business growth.
Geumjeong-gu has also been running a fashion startup incubation support program through the Busan-Gyeongnam Fashion and Sewing Industry Cooperative since 2024. The space supports local fashion entrepreneurs’ growth and independence through tailored assistance at each stage, including workspace, training, consulting, prototype production and sales channel development.
