[Financial News] Hyundai Engineering and Construction’s “The New House” has so far focused on renovating shared areas such as apartment exteriors, landscaping and community facilities, but will now also take on interior design for individual units.
According to Hyundai Engineering and Construction on the 23rd, the company signed a business agreement with HYUNDAI LIVART FURNITURE COMPANY LIMITED the previous day at The H Gallery in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The agreement is for “Mutual Cooperation to Improve the Total Residential Environment in Shared Areas and Individual Units under The New House.” Attendees included Lee In-gi, head of Hyundai Engineering and Construction’s Building and Housing Business Division; Kwon Tae-jin, head of HYUNDAI LIVART FURNITURE COMPANY LIMITED’s Lifestyle Division; and Kang Min-su, head of its Business Solutions Division, along with other senior officials from the two companies. The agreement was pursued to strengthen the project’s competitiveness and improve customer satisfaction.
The two companies have divided up their roles. Hyundai Engineering and Construction will oversee the project as a whole and set plans and implementation strategies for each complex, while HYUNDAI LIVART FURNITURE COMPANY LIMITED will carry out interior work for individual units, drawing on its design and construction experience with its own interior brand, “Zipterior.” The companies will also collaborate throughout the project and jointly design and develop specialized products for shared and private areas. They will also provide consultations for households seeking interior work.
The New House is a new residential-improvement business launched by Hyundai Engineering and Construction in June last year, primarily targeting apartment complexes built in the 2000s. It assesses each complex’s location, layout and the extent to which its facilities have deteriorated to develop a tailored improvement plan, and upgrades shared areas across the board—from distinctive exterior designs to landscaping, community facilities and smart systems.
