On the 21st, SH held a “2026 Mock Drill for Business Recovery in Preparation for Large-Scale Disasters,” simulating an emergency in which a major fire at its headquarters halted the use of its office building and the operation of key information systems. The drill was designed to review how quickly the situation could be assessed and to test the effectiveness of its business recovery response system in a disaster.
Senior department heads, including SH President Hwang Sang-ha, took part in the drill, convened a situation assessment meeting of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, and received reports on damage to facilities and information systems. They then closely reviewed plans for operating an alternative worksite and restoring information systems, focusing on the organization’s emergency response capabilities.
SH plans to immediately incorporate improvements identified through the mock drill into its “Disaster Mitigation Activities Management System” and further enhance its response system so that essential public services can resume without delay even in an actual disaster.
SH President Hwang Sang-ha stressed, “It is more important than anything else to ensure that essential public services provided to citizens are not interrupted, even if a major disaster occurs. Going forward, we will regularly review our disaster response system through effective, repeated drills and do everything possible to ensure business continuity.”
