[Financial News] Lotte Mart is set to introduce Vietnamese food to domestic consumers and expand distribution cooperation between the two countries.
According to industry sources on the 23rd, Lotte Mart is holding ‘Vietnam Goods Week 2026’ at Lotte Mart Zettaplex Seoul Station through the 28th. The event was organized to expand domestic sales channels for Vietnamese food and promote product exchanges between South Korea and Vietnam.
The event offers discounts on around 100 varieties of Vietnamese processed and fresh foods. Five varieties of the signature ‘Vifon Vietnamese Pho (60 g)’ are 10% off, as is ‘Chinsu Pho Story Pho (81 g)’, while five varieties of ‘G7 Coffee’ are available in a buy-one-get-one-free offer, as are ‘100% Mango Mango Chips (10 g)’. Fresh Vietnamese products, including dragon fruit, bananas and shrimp, are also on offer.
On the 22nd, the first day of the event, officials from Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea visited Lotte Mart Zettaplex Seoul Station. They toured the fresh food section and a dedicated event area featuring Vietnamese processed foods, and checked on product sales and other details.
Lotte Mart is also expanding its business in Vietnam. Since opening its first store in Nam Sai Gon, Ho Chi Minh City, in 2008, it now operates 17 stores. After turning profitable in 2022, it has continued to grow its operating profit each year. This year, it opened two more stores in areas with high growth potential as it moved to expand its business.
Yoon Byung-soo, head of overseas business at Lotte Mart and Super, said, “The retail network we have built in both South Korea and Vietnam is a distinctive strength of Lotte Mart.” He added, “We will continue to work with local partners to offer domestic customers a broad range of food experiences and expand our role as a bridge for product exchanges between the two countries.”
