[Financial News] Gifty Show, the mobile coupon service operated by KT alpha, has launched the industry's first 'integrated points gift voucher,' which lets users freely choose products from various brands and use the points across purchases.
According to KT alpha on the 23rd, the integrated points gift voucher allows recipients to convert a gifted voucher into points and use them to buy products from brands of their choice. Unlike existing mobile gift vouchers, its use is not limited to a designated brand or product; users can choose products from multiple brands and spend only the amount they need.
For example, someone who receives a 50,000-won coffee and beverage points voucher can load 50,000 points and then buy drinks from multiple brands, including A Twosome Place and Mega MGC Coffee. Points are deducted by the amount of each purchase, and any remaining points can be used to buy other products before they expire.
The vouchers are offered in five categories: coffee and beverages, chicken and pizza, lifestyle and shopping, marts and department stores, and online shopping. Users can choose from around 10 products in each brand's popular lineup, and the vouchers are available in 11 denominations, from 5,000 won to 100,000 won.
Users can visit the website address (URL) included with the voucher, complete PASS authentication, and then load points. They can then select a brand and product of their choice, exchange the points for a mobile coupon, and use it at the relevant store. If they have not used the exchanged coupon, they can convert it back into points and buy another product.
KT alpha expects the vouchers to be used in a range of areas, including employee benefits, customer gifts, and event prizes. The company believes they can ease the burden on businesses of choosing gifts, since recipients can select the brand and product themselves.
Lee Jeong-ho, head of KT alpha's G-Commerce Business Division, said, "We plan to continue expanding our product categories and partner brands to meet corporate customer demand, and to strengthen our product competitiveness by introducing customized points gift vouchers tailored to each company's promotional objectives."
