[Financial News] A culinary program offering foreign tourists visiting Busan the chance to sample Hanwoo is being launched.
Busan City said it will run the Hanwoo Gourmet Tour in partnership with the Hanwoo Self-Sufficiency Fund Management Committee for 15 days starting on the 23rd, targeting foreign tourists visiting or staying in Busan.
The event will be held at four restaurants serving Hanwoo that were selected for “Taste of Busan 2026.” The four participating venues are Yukhwamok and Sogonggan in Haeundae District, Gwangalli Eonyang Bulgogi Busanjip in Suyeong District, and Gombo Restaurant in Sasang District.
At these venues, visitors can try distinctive Hanwoo dishes, including Hanwoo ribeye, steak and bulgogi.
Working with the Hanwoo Self-Sufficiency Fund Management Committee, the city will provide meal support of up to 30,000 won per person to as many as 100 foreign tourists at each participating venue. Each venue can receive up to 3 million won in support.
Foreign tourists who wish to participate can visit one of the restaurants, post a photo of a Hanwoo dish on their personal social media account and complete a simple verification process to receive meal support.
To encourage participation by foreign tourists, the city plans to place information leaflets and table signs at participating venues and promote the event through the channels of related organizations, including Visit Busan and the Busan Global City Foundation.
The city expects the event to encourage foreign tourists to visit restaurants in Busan and boost promotion of Busan’s food culture through social media. After the event, it plans to analyze participation figures and operating results and consider whether to expand the program in the future.
