[Financial News] Korea Investment & Securities plans to issue up to KRW 500 billion in publicly offered corporate bonds. It is pursuing additional fundraising after issuing KRW 1 trillion in corporate bonds from June to August this year.
According to investment banking (IB) industry sources on the 23rd, Korea Investment & Securities will conduct a bookbuilding exercise among institutional investors on the 3rd of next month for a KRW 300 billion public offering of corporate bonds. The bonds will have two- and three-year maturities, and the company plans to increase the issue size to as much as KRW 500 billion, depending on the bookbuilding results.
Shinhan Investment & Securities, Hana Securities and KIWOOM Securities will serve as lead managers. The bonds are scheduled to be issued on the 10th of the same month. The proposed pricing range is 30 basis points below to 30 basis points above the average yield assessed by individual private bond pricing agencies (individual minpyeong).
Korea Investment & Securities has continued to raise funds through the corporate bond market this year. After issuing KRW 500 billion in corporate bonds in February, it raised KRW 500 billion in June, KRW 300 billion in July and KRW 200 billion in August. If this issue is finalized at its maximum size, total corporate bond issuance this year will reach KRW 2 trillion.
The maturity profile of its previously issued bonds is also drawing attention. Korea Investment & Securities faces maturities totaling KRW 560 billion in senior corporate bonds next year. Senior corporate bonds totaling KRW 1.105 trillion are scheduled to mature in 2028, and KRW 900 billion in 2029. With a substantial amount of corporate bonds coming due over the next three years, securing stable refinancing conditions is expected to become increasingly important.
Korea Investment & Securities’ senior unsecured corporate bonds are rated 'AA (Stable).'
