According to industry sources on the 23rd, Aribio Co., Ltd. has completed payment of the first tranche, 11.475 billion won, of a 42.5 billion won third-party allotment of new shares to Fosun Pharma. The two companies signed an investment agreement in July, and once the second investment is finalized, Fosun Pharma is expected to secure about a 5% stake in Aribio and become its third-largest shareholder, after Aribio Holdings and Samjin Pharmaceutical.
Fosun Pharma previously signed a global exclusive licensing agreement for AR1001. With its participation in the equity investment following its acquisition of the licensing rights, cooperation between the two companies is expected to deepen further in the development and commercialization of AR1001.
Aribio Co., Ltd. plans to use the investment funds to prepare for the global commercialization of AR1001 and to support global clinical trials for follow-on pipeline candidates, including AR1005 and the electroceutical HERZION.
Meanwhile, Aribio Co., Ltd. is scheduled to present key results from the global Phase 3 trial (POLARIS-AD) of AR1001 at the Clinical Trials on Alzheimer’s Disease conference (CTAD 2026), to be held in Boston, United States, on November 16. The clinical results are expected to be a key factor in future regulatory approval and commercialization processes.
