[Financial News] HDC Group's IPARK Hyundai Development Company donated 100 million won to improve working conditions for environmental service workers in Seoul. The company signed a business agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Council and Habitat for Humanity Korea and plans to continue its support and employee volunteer activities for three years, through 2028.
According to IPARK Hyundai Development Company, a signing ceremony for a business agreement on improving working conditions for environmental service workers was held at the Seoul Metropolitan Council on the 22nd. Lim Man-gyun, chair of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, and Shin Wang-seop, director at IPARK Hyundai Development Company, among others, attended the event.
Under the agreement, IPARK Hyundai Development Company will provide the funding needed for the project and organize volunteer activities involving its employees for three years, from this year through 2028. The Seoul Metropolitan Council will identify beneficiaries and provide administrative support, while Habitat for Humanity Korea will oversee the project.
In addition, IPARK Hyundai Development Company donated 100 million won to Habitat for Humanity Korea through a matching-grant program in which employees and the company contribute jointly to a fund. The donation will be used for a project to improve working conditions for environmental service workers employed in Seoul.
A representative of IPARK Hyundai Development Company said, "It is all the more meaningful that our employees, along with the company, are taking part in the Seoul Metropolitan Council's support project to improve working conditions for environmental service workers, who have played a significant role in protecting citizens' comfortable daily lives and helping Seoul emerge as a global tourist city." The representative added, "Building mutually beneficial relationships with local communities is the foundation of ESG management. We will continue our efforts with greater commitment and also develop additional social contribution activities that employees can take part in."
IPARK Hyundai Development Company has carried out social contribution activities using matching grants since 2015. Employees make monthly donations
of less than 10,000 won from their salaries, and the company contributes the same amount to build a fund.
The funds raised have been used to support disaster-stricken areas and improve housing conditions for vulnerable groups. In 2022, the company donated 300 million won to the Community Chest of Korea to help with recovery in areas affected by flooding. Since 2024, it has also been participating in projects to improve housing conditions for vulnerable households in Seoul in cooperation with Seoul City Hall and Habitat for Humanity Korea.
