[Financial News] The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority said on the 22nd that it had been named one of the world's outstanding organizations in the corporate aftercare category of the '2026 Global Outstanding Free Economic Zones,' announced by fDi Intelligence, a global investment assessment organization affiliated with the UK's Financial Times (FT).
In the awards, which assess investment environments and operational best practices among free economic zones worldwide, Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone was listed alongside Jebel Ali Free Zone in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a world-renowned logistics and industrial hub, earning international recognition for its business support capabilities and the competitiveness of its investment environment.
Its business-focused investment attraction policy received high marks for supporting not only the attraction of new investors but also the stable establishment and continued growth of existing tenant companies, as well as their reinvestment and business expansion.
In an article on the 15th, fDi Intelligence emphasized the importance of corporate aftercare and cited the support provided to tenant companies in Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone as a best practice.
Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone systematically conducted regular business satisfaction surveys and one-on-one consultations with companies, as well as CEO roundtables, industry-specific forums, and dedicated aftercare programs. It was also reported to have received praise for evaluating the results of its business support based on substantive business growth and satisfaction with the investment environment—including whether tenant companies reinvested, expanded their businesses, and were willing to recommend the zone to other investors—rather than limiting the assessment to the number of consultations or the record of resolving business difficulties.
Commissioner Park Seong-ho said, "This selection recognizes Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone as a business-friendly free economic zone where companies can grow steadily and continue to reinvest," adding, "We will continue to link future logistics infrastructure, including Busan New Port, Jinhae New Port, and Gadeok Island New Airport, and develop the zone into a world-class investment hub."
