According to the financial sector on the 22nd, Bank of Hope signed a memorandum of understanding on financial support to promote the social solidarity economy with KODIT.
The agreement will provide a total of 20 billion won in guarantees. Eligible recipients include social enterprises, cooperatives, community-based enterprises and self-sufficiency enterprises. Support will cover not only working capital needed for day-to-day operations but also facility loans for expansion and investment.
Bank of Hope will cover 0.5 percentage points of the annual guarantee fee rate that companies are required to pay for three years. It is also expanding inclusive finance through a special offering of its Hana Social Economy Enterprise Growth Dream Loan, with a total limit of 500 billion won. The product offers preferential loan rates to social economy enterprises whose credit ratings are relatively lower than those of conventional businesses or that have limited capacity to provide collateral.
Seo Yu-seok, vice president of Bank of Hope’s Corporate Group, said, “Through this agreement, Bank of Hope has established a comprehensive and practical financial support system for social economy enterprises,” adding, “Going forward, Bank of Hope will continue to help social economy enterprises achieve self-reliance and growth by actively practicing inclusive finance, and will continue to fulfill the financial sector’s social responsibility.”
Meanwhile, Bank of Hope is expanding its inclusive finance support, including by signing an agreement with the Incheon Credit Guarantee Foundation last July to make a special contribution for inclusive finance.
