[Financial News] A food event will run for a week at 124 restaurants, cafes and other venues across Seoul, offering discounts on popular dishes or a chance to try special menus. Some venues will also offer points equal to half the payment amount, up to 10,000 won. The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 22nd that it will hold the '2026 Seoul Restaurant Week' across Seoul from the 23rd to the 29th. A major program of Seoul Gourmet Week, which takes place during the same period, the event was organized to encourage residents and tourists to visit restaurants and boost spending in local commercial districts.
A total of 124 venues are taking part this year, including 23 Korean restaurants, 28 Western restaurants, 11 Asian restaurants, and 35 cafes and dessert shops. The lineup also includes 41 venues listed in the Seoul Metropolitan Government's 'Seoul Gourmet 100' and 'Seoul Cafe & Dessert 50' selections.
For the first time, this year's event will include a points promotion in partnership with NAVER Pay. Customers who pay at participating venues using NAVER Pay QR payment or Face Sign can immediately earn points equal to 50% of the payment amount, up to 10,000 won. The benefit is available once per person, and participating venues include Sancheong Charcoal Garden Euljiro in Jung-gu, Milgatto in Seocho District, and Jin Jin in Mapo District.
Venue-specific discounts and complimentary offers will also be available. At Teddy Beurre House and Sam Sam Sam in Yongsan District, customers can get 10% off their bill by showing the official Seoul Gourmet Week Instagram account. Walking on the Cloud in Yeongdeungpo District is offering 10% off course menus, while Ancho in Gwangjin District will provide a complimentary special dessert for each table.
Businesses will also offer limited-time menu items available only during the event. Ordinary Coffee Lab in Seongbuk District will serve a special latte, while Blue Recipe in Seodaemun District will offer fresh pasta made with seasonal ingredients. At Raison d'être, visitors can try acorn desserts inspired by autumn.
Alongside Seoul Restaurant Week, Seoul Gourmet Week programs will also take place at venues including Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). The 'Seoul Gourmet Market,' held at DDP on the 24th and 25th, will showcase dishes by renowned chefs and seasonal ingredients under the theme of home-cooked meals. Gourmet tours of Seochon Village and Namyeong-dong, as well as classes where participants can make Korean dishes and other foods, will also be held.
Information on participating venues, discount terms and program schedules is available on the official Seoul Gourmet Week website.
Jo Seong-ho, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Tourism and Sports Bureau, said, "Seoul Restaurant Week is an opportunity to discover anew the diverse flavors of Seoul, from famous restaurants to hidden gems in neighborhood alleys.
