[Financial News] By the end of the year, around 8,800 homes will be supplied through redevelopment and reconstruction projects at 14 sites in regional areas. In effect, branded apartments offering access to existing urban amenities will be entering the housing market one after another.
According to RealToday, a real estate research firm, a total of 14,177 homes are expected to be supplied through regional redevelopment and reconstruction projects by year-end. Of these, 8,832 homes, excluding units allocated to union members and other such units, will be offered for general sale, accounting for about 62.3% of the total.
North Gyeongsang Province has the largest number of homes for general sale, at 2,397. It is followed by Daejeon with 2,334, Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City with 1,387, Busan with 1,127, Daegu with 1,049, and North Jeolla Province with 538. The combined total for North Gyeongsang Province and Daejeon is 4,731 homes, or about 53.6% of all homes for general sale.
Because redevelopment and reconstruction apartments are built in existing residential areas, residents can use established infrastructure, including transportation facilities, schools and commercial facilities. However, the number of homes actually offered for general sale and the supply terms vary depending on factors such as location, project scale and the proportion of units allocated to union members.
A RealToday representative said, “Complexes supplied through redevelopment projects offer access to the extensive amenities of established urban areas, and their brand value and high-quality products make them popular with buyers. With complexes in strong locations set to be supplied one after another in major regional cities by year-end, we expect continued interest from buyers preparing to purchase a home.”
In particular, complexes with more than 1,000 homes for general sale are set to be supplied in Daejeon and Gwangju.
