[Financial News] Biotech companies that have operated separately across research and development, production, and sales are joining forces on a single platform. Kolmar Biotech has launched Bio-One Infinity, an execution-focused biotech business collaboration group.
Kolmar Biotech said it held the launch ceremony for Bio-One Infinity at Kolmar Bio Cluster on the 21st and began full-scale operations.
Bio-One Infinity is a platform designed to turn the collaborative potential of Korea’s rapidly changing, open-innovation-driven biotech industry into tangible business results. It aims to reduce business risks and cost burdens while organically connecting participating companies’ capabilities to create new business opportunities and sustainable growth value.
The plan is to build a collaborative ecosystem that goes beyond a simple network, bringing joint research and development, commercialization, production, and sales together. To achieve this, the platform offers diverse business areas, an organically collaborative structure, and scalability built on an integrated brand.
The platform comprises six business areas: advanced biotechnology, ultra-precise diagnostics, advanced regenerative therapies, environmentally clean vaccines, AI bio R&D, and specialty businesses. Core companies take the lead in their respective fields, while participating companies and project leadership are assembled flexibly according to each project’s characteristics, securing both efficiency and scalability in collaboration.
Participating companies will jointly pursue research and development, commercialization, and product manufacturing projects within the consortium. The strategy is to increase revenue while easing the burden of R&D investment by running projects that can generate short-term revenue alongside medium- and long-term technology development initiatives. They also plan to establish a joint sales system using the integrated brand and share business opportunities to boost synergies among companies.
Moon Byung-seok, CEO of Kolmar Biotech, said, “Bio-One Infinity is an execution-focused collaboration platform that leads to the identification of real projects and tangible results. By bridging boundaries between companies across research and development, commercialization, production, and sales, we will create a new growth formula for the biotech industry.”
He added, “We will expand participation by a diverse range of companies that can create new value through collaboration beyond the biotech industry, laying the groundwork for strengthening the competitiveness of Korea’s biotech industry and entering global markets.”
Around 60 people attended the launch ceremony, including representatives of eight core companies—SP Med, NexGener, BioTNS, Apace, Immunis Bio, JB Biotech, and MD Healthcare among them—nine organizations, including the Korean Society of Toxicology and the Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization (KBIO), and 11 Kolmar Biotech partner companies.
