[New Book] Time to Awaken Half

[Financial News] Yoon Yeo-soon, who was the first woman to serve as an executive at LG Group, examines in her new book, *Time to Awaken Half*, the organizational structures that prevent companies from making proper use of female talent. The book explores the development of female talent from the perspective of corporate competitiveness.
Drawing on interviews with around 20 people, including corporate executives and women employees, the book captures their experiences in the workplace. It points to prejudices that women are emotional or lack leadership skills, as well as barriers in promotion and evaluation processes. It emphasizes that people should be evaluated on their abilities and performance, and given equal opportunities to take on challenges and experience failure.
For women employees, the book offers advice on how to grow into leaders, going beyond practical skills. It advises them to make their achievements visible, work strategically, build relationships within their organizations, and develop political savvy. It recommends finding role models, forging bonds with colleagues and junior colleagues, and fostering an organizational culture in which women and men can grow together.
