[Financial News] President Lee Jae Myung said on the 21st, responding to news that South Korea had been included in the group of the world’s top-tier AI-leading nations alongside the United States and China, “What matters is turning this competitiveness into tangible results.”
The president shared an article that day on X (formerly Twitter) reporting that the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) had included South Korea in the group of leading AI nations, and wrote this.
The president explained, “Boston Consulting Group gave the following reasons for rating our country as a leading nation: First, it demonstrated leadership in developing its own AI models. Second, it highly valued the focus of large-scale public investment on fostering the AI ecosystem and expanding computing infrastructure.”
He added, “What matters now is turning this competitiveness into tangible results. The government and businesses will work together to lead the development of AI technology and industry, and ensure that those results benefit people’s everyday lives and contribute to the growth of our economy.”
According to the report shared by the president, BCG assessed that South Korea had distinguished itself in developing its own AI models and had also pursued large-scale public investment to build computing infrastructure and an AI ecosystem.
