[Financial News] Kookmin University's Climate Change Response Project Group announced on the 21st that it had concluded the '2026 GREEN JOBS (Green Jobs) Career Camp,' held with students enrolled at five universities across the country to help young people explore jobs in climate and environmental fields.
The camp was organized to help young people pursue careers in related fields in response to the climate crisis and the growth of environmentally friendly industries. Around 50 students from five universities, including host Kookmin University, Duksung Women's University, the University of Ulsan, Inha University and Chosun University, took part in the event, held for two days starting on the 2nd at Somerset Palace Seoul.
The event was divided into four tracks based on students' preferences: employment, entrepreneurship, graduate school and global opportunities. Participants identified their strengths through a career interest test and then assessed the skills needed for actual employment, receiving advice from professionals working in environmentally friendly fields and alumni.
The students then split into 10 teams and developed and presented 'Career Action Plans' detailing specific employment or startup goals and steps to achieve them. Following the judging, the grand prize went to a team that presented a specific action plan for entering the ESG (environmental, social and governance) and sustainable management fields at large corporations.
Kang Yoon-hee, head of the project group, said, "I hope this camp has provided students with an opportunity to design sustainable careers in climate and environmental fields based on their strengths and values," adding, "We will continue to provide systematic education and career support to nurture interdisciplinary talent who will lead the future green transition."
Meanwhile, as the lead university of the HUSS Environmental Consortium, Kookmin University is promoting interdisciplinary education with Duksung Women's University, the University of Ulsan, Inha University and Chosun University under the theme 'Coexistence and Shared Prosperity in the Era of Climate Crisis,' breaking down boundaries between universities and academic disciplines. It is working to nurture future-oriented talent in the humanities and social sciences with problem-solving skills and interdisciplinary thinking.
