[New Delhi, India — Pragya Awasthi, correspondent] Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is bringing on a local marketing expert as a vice president-level executive and putting them in charge of brand and marketing technology.
According to local sources on the 21st, HMIL has reportedly hired Karun Arora, who held roles including chief marketing communications officer (CMCO) at Chinese companies such as vivo, as an AVP-level executive heading its Brand and Marketing Technology division.
Arora will oversee brand marketing, marketing technology and product promotion at HMIL, leading efforts to strengthen the company’s brand competitiveness and expand its technology-based marketing capabilities. Key responsibilities include enhancing brand value, increasing consumers’ consideration of its products for purchase, and developing technology-focused marketing capabilities.
Arora announced the move to HMIL on LinkedIn, saying, “Over the past 20-plus years, I have experienced many challenges and opportunities across different industries, brands and advertising agencies.” Arora added, “Each experience helped me develop new perspectives and prepare to move forward.”
Before joining Hyundai Motor, Arora worked at vivo India for about five years, serving as chief marketing communications officer (CMCO) and head of marketing communications. Before joining vivo in November 2021, Arora worked at Dentsu Impact for more than five years, holding roles from general manager to senior vice president.
Drawing on more than 20 years of experience across various industries, global brands and advertising agencies, Arora is expected to help strengthen HMIL’s brand competitiveness and advance its marketing strategy. In particular, Arora is expected to focus on strengthening consumer-centric integrated marketing communications and marketing capabilities that leverage digital technology, as well as increasing consumer interest in and consideration of purchasing the company’s products.
