[Financial News] LG Electronics unveiled a next-generation system air conditioner powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and showcased heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) solutions spanning homes, commercial and industrial facilities, and AI data centers. The strategy is to use AI technology to improve heating and cooling efficiency while strengthening its competitiveness in next-generation cooling technologies, including liquid cooling for data centers.
LG Electronics said it took part in the Korea International Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Exhibition, ‘HARFKO 2026,’ which opened at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on the 21st, and unveiled its new commercial system air conditioner, the ‘LG Multi V 7,’ for the first time.
The LG Multi V 7 is a next-generation, high-capacity system air conditioner featuring ‘dual AI’ technology that combines on-device AI with cloud AI. The on-device AI built into the product learns the installation environment and usage patterns in real time to optimize operation, while cloud AI analyzes operating data to improve performance and stability.
It also features ‘AI Smart Care,’ which analyzes various operating scenarios and recommends operating modes that take comfort and energy efficiency into account. The system also supports noise control based on the surrounding environment, as well as AI-powered fault prediction and diagnosis.
The compressor, a key component, features ‘SPIN X,’ which incorporates LG Electronics’ new technology. Improvements to the compressor structure, along with a bidirectional oil supply system and real-time oil-condition monitoring technology, have enhanced heating and cooling performance, energy efficiency and operating stability compared with existing products.
LG Electronics also unveiled home heating and cooling solutions. In an exhibition space replicating an actual home, it introduced a future-oriented residential solution centered on a heat pump that integrates the management of cooling, heating and hot water. It also showcased an integrated air solution that connects a heat-pump-based heating, cooling and hot-water system tailored to domestic apartment complexes with air conditioners, air purifiers and ventilation products to manage indoor air quality and energy efficiency.
LG Electronics also exhibited cooling technologies designed for AI data centers. It introduced air-cooled equipment, including chillers that produce large volumes of cooling water and fan wall units (FWUs) that supply cool air inside data centers. Cooling water produced by chillers can be used for both air cooling and liquid cooling in data centers. The company also unveiled key components for liquid cooling, including coolant distribution units (CDUs) and cold plates that directly absorb heat generated by semiconductor chips. It expanded its cooling technology portfolio by showcasing immersion cooling solutions, which are attracting attention as a next-generation data center cooling technology, as well as an immersion tank currently under development.
Lee Jae-sung, president and head of LG Electronics’ Eco Solution (ES) Business Division, said, “We will continue to expand advanced solutions built on Core Tech, our differentiated strength in components, across every area that needs cooling solutions, from homes to commercial and industrial facilities and AI data centers.”
