[Financial News] Samsung Biologics continued its growth, driven by Plants 1–4 operating at full capacity, expanded operations at Plant 5, and the effect of acquiring a U.S. production facility. Revenue from the new facility, added to stable operations at existing facilities, drove improved results. The company also raised its annual revenue growth forecast, boosting expectations for continued growth.
Samsung Biologics said in a disclosure on the 21st that it recorded revenue of 1.4903 trillion won and operating profit of 640.1 billion won in the third quarter of 2026. Revenue increased by 232.8 billion won (19%) and operating profit by 6.6 billion won (1%) year on year.
Growth in results was driven by maintaining utilization rates at existing facilities and expanding revenue from new facilities. Plants 1–4 continued to operate at full capacity, while Plant 5 ramped up (stabilized operations to increase production). Revenue from the Rockville, Maryland production facility in the U.S., acquired in March this year, also began to be recognized in earnest, contributing to results.
Samsung Biologics raised its annual revenue growth guidance for this year from '15%–20% growth' year on year to '20% growth'. The decision took into account revenue growth from stable operations at Plants 1–4, revenue recognition from validation batches at Plant 5 in the second half of the year, and the stabilization of commercial production at the Rockville, Maryland facility in the U.S.
At the end of the third quarter, the company recorded assets of 12.6702 trillion won, equity of 8.6893 trillion won, and liabilities of 3.9809 trillion won. It also maintained financial stability, with a debt ratio of 45.8% and a borrowings ratio of 9.2%.
Samsung Biologics continues to pursue orders across its contract manufacturing (CMO) and contract development (CDO) businesses. Since its founding, it has secured a cumulative 117 CMO orders and 184 CDO orders, with a total cumulative order value of 22 billion dollars.
To expand its business portfolio, the company recently launched a tender offer for Polypeptide Group, a global peptide contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) company. The tendered stake reached 87.88%, exceeding the 66.7% minimum acceptance condition for the deal. The company plans to complete the transaction by paying the consideration within 10 trading days after obtaining regulatory approvals from the relevant authorities in Europe, India, Australia, Brazil, and other jurisdictions.
The company is also expanding its global sales network. With the opening of a European sales office in the Netherlands last August, it established a network spanning the U.S., Europe, Japan, and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. It plans to use this network to broaden its engagement with overseas clients and strengthen its competitiveness in securing orders.
Meanwhile, Samsung Biologics received an A rating in MSCI's 2026 ESG assessment, one notch higher than the previous year. It has raised its rating every year since receiving a B in 2023.
