[Financial News] An international conference discussing the shift in the medical paradigm from “digital healthcare” to “AI-native healthcare” will kick off at the end of this month.
The 6th International Healthcare and Medtech Conference (IHMC) will be held over two days, from the 28th to the 29th, at Healthcare Innovation Park at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.
With “Connecting Hospitals. Transforming Healthcare” as its theme, the conference will bring together leading hospitals, academia, industry, government and international organizations from around 15 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, China and Russia. Participants will discuss how AI and digital technologies will change healthcare services and ways to collaborate in response.
The event aims to share experiences across institutions and borders and help promising ideas lead to better healthcare. The plan is to develop connections made at the event into ongoing collaborations, enabling more people to benefit from effective and sustainable healthcare.
On the first day, keynote speeches and panel discussions will cover △AI’s impact on everyday life and healthcare △the shift from digital healthcare to AI-native healthcare △innovation in healthcare services using AI and digital technologies △virtual healthcare services and telemedicine △the role and priorities of the Global Smart Hospital Alliance (GSHA).
The second day will address △the state of medical AI in 2026 △sustainable smart health systems for emerging countries △universal health coverage in developing countries and the role of development banks △addiction issues and CPR education for young people △AI-powered senior living and wellness.
The startup showcase on the first day is also a highlight. It will give healthcare startups a platform to present innovative technologies and business models, and will open with an overview of biohealth investment trends in the United States, South Korea and Singapore. An expert judging panel comprising investors and corporate representatives will evaluate the participating companies and present awards.
An inaugural event for an international CPR training and competition program for high school students will also take place on the second day. Supported by the Global Smart Hospital Alliance, the program involves eight countries: South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico, India, Singapore, the Philippines and Turkey. The plan is to use an extended reality (XR)-based CPR training platform to strengthen students’ emergency response skills and create opportunities for schools in participating countries to connect.
Jeon Sang-hoon, CEO of HealthOnCloud and former president of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, said, “AI, digital health and telemedicine are changing the face of healthcare services. I hope the in-depth discussions and new connections over these two days will serve as an opportunity for us to move forward together toward the future of medicine.”
The conference is hosted by Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, HealthOnCloud and the Global Smart Hospital Alliance, and sponsored by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Global Digital Innovation Network and the Asian Thoracic Academy. Those wishing to attend can register in advance on the official website.
