[Financial News] K Bank has adopted a blockchain transaction analysis solution in preparation for the establishment of a regulatory framework for digital assets such as stablecoins. The plan is to identify fund flows and transaction risks on the blockchain and strengthen its ability to combat financial crimes such as money laundering.
On the 21st, sources in the financial sector said that K Bank had adopted TranSight, a blockchain transaction analysis solution from Bonanza Factory, a company specializing in blockchain compliance.
TranSight is a Know Your Transaction (KYT) solution that analyzes wallet addresses and transaction flows on the blockchain to identify risks related to financial crime. While Know Your Customer (KYC) is a process for verifying a customer's identity, KYT is a technology for analyzing the flow of funds and risks associated with individual transactions.
It assesses transaction risks using a range of information, including high-risk wallets and addresses linked to crimes in Korea. It also supports analysis tailored to the domestic financial environment, drawing on data accumulated through research and cooperation with Korean investigative agencies.
K Bank had already been working with Bonanza Factory in the area of KRW deposits and withdrawals for virtual asset exchanges, using its TranSafer KRW deposit and withdrawal solution. With this latest adoption, the two companies have expanded their cooperation to include analysis of fund flows and transaction risks on the blockchain.
K Bank plans to strengthen its on-chain transaction monitoring capabilities and enhance its anti-money laundering (AML) and risk management systems in line with regulatory developments related to digital assets.
A K Bank representative said, “We are systematically preparing for the establishment of a regulatory framework for stablecoins not only by strengthening our capabilities in on-chain transaction analysis and anti-money laundering, but also by expanding cooperation with global financial institutions and conducting technology validation. We will continue to strengthen our technological competitiveness and prepare to offer safe and innovative digital asset financial services.”
Meanwhile, K Bank is moving to tap global markets by building a blockchain-based cross-border remittance and payments network anchored in Hong Kong. Last July, it signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in cross-border remittances and payments with HashKey Group, one of the groups leading Asia’s digital asset market, and BPMG, a domestic blockchain company.
