【The Financial News, Haenam = Hwang Tae-jong】“Come enjoy the flavors and charm of Haenam around Duryunsan Provincial Park in Samsan-myeon, Haenam County, from October 30 to November 1.”
Haenam County will hold the 2026 Haenam Minam Festival, showcasing the flavors and charm of Haenam through foods made with the region’s abundant agricultural, marine and specialty products.
Haenam County Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan emphasized, “This year’s Haenam Minam Festival has been designed not only to promote the flavors of Haenam through its agricultural, marine and specialty products and foods, but also to let visitors fully enjoy Haenam’s charm through a variety of hands-on activities and attractions.”
Haenam County will operate a pavilion dedicated to Haenam rice, one of the region’s signature agricultural products, as well as the Minam Food Pavilion and Snack Pavilion, where visitors can sample foods including Haenam’s Eight Signature Flavors, and booths selling local agricultural, marine and specialty products. Haenam’s Eight Signature Flavors are Haenam-style chicken course meals; Daheungsa barley ssambap; Spanish mackerel sashimi wrapped in Haenam laver; Haenam hwangchil dishes; Ttangkkeut Korean beef dishes; a Haenam-style table spread; summer pike conger; and sweet potato desserts.
The Haenam rice pavilion will feature Ttangkkeut Haetsal, the county’s signature rice brand. With its vast farmland and pristine natural environment, Haenam has established itself as the country’s largest rice-producing area. The pavilion will also showcase high-quality Haenam rice, which has won acclaim both in Korea and overseas.
The pavilion will feature exhibits on the history and cultivation of Haenam rice, as well as information on processed rice products. It will be operated as an integrated program linked to direct sales through the Haenam County Local Food Store and Haenam Miso, the county’s online shopping mall, as well as parcel delivery sales and live commerce. The opening-day ceremony will include a performance depicting the rice harvest, and the festival grounds will also offer rice-based cooking activities and a rice-tasting zone.
The Minam Food Pavilion and Snack Pavilion will have seating for 1,000 visitors, allowing tourists to sample Haenam’s local foods. The Minam Food Pavilion will be run by prominent local food establishments, while residents’ councils, food research groups, civic organizations and local businesses will take part in the Snack Pavilion, offering desserts and other snacks.
The festival will also feature a varied program of performances, including the Minam Trot Celebration Show and a romantic concert, along with hands-on activities such as cooking experiences, a large-scale kimchi-mixing event and a nostalgic outdoor grilling experience, offering plenty to see and do.
Popular singers Kim Yong-bin and Hong Ji-yoon will take the stage at the Minam Trot Celebration Show on the evening of October 30. The following day, October 31, Seongri and Jadu will perform at the Minam Romantic Concert.
