Lotte Global Logistics, Republic of Korea Army Headquarters to establish military supplies transport system

[Financial News] Lotte Global Logistics will work with Republic of Korea Army Headquarters to support the transport of military supplies during wartime and cooperate in defense logistics during peacetime. 
According to logistics industry sources on the 21st, Lotte Global Logistics signed a “Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Establishing a Wartime Mobilization System and Cooperation in the Defense Logistics Business” with Republic of Korea Army Headquarters. 
The agreement was drawn up to support the transport of military supplies and emergency relief goods in the event of war or a national emergency, and to strengthen cooperation in defense logistics and smart logistics during peacetime.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will establish a domestic and overseas transportation and logistics support system for military supplies, equipment, and daily necessities when a mobilization order is declared. In peacetime, they will exchange smart logistics technologies and pursue pilot defense logistics projects and the development of cooperative models using civilian logistics infrastructure.
Lotte Global Logistics plans to expand cooperation in military supplies transport support and defense logistics by linking its global network and logistics technologies with the military transport system.
A Lotte Global Logistics representative said, “It is meaningful to be able to contribute to the important mission of strengthening national security,” adding, “Drawing on our advanced logistics infrastructure and smart technologies, we will continue civil-military cooperation to advance logistics systems for national defense and the defense industry.”
