[Financial News] Lee Sang-min, a political satire creator and comedian who sent a "straw" to Gyeonggi Governor Choo Mi-ae—who sparked controversy with her remarks calling the fire service a "financial straw"—revealed that he sent a "Gyeyeongbae" to People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk.
On the 21st, Lee Sang-min posted on his social media with the title "Following the straw," stating, "I sent a Gyeyeongbae to party leader Jang Dong-hyuk," and revealed a photo of the Gyeyeongbae along with an order detail in which Representative Jang's parliamentary office was designated as the delivery address.
Gyeyeongbae means a cup that warns against fullness, and it is a cup designed so that when it reaches a certain level, the alcohol leaks out through a hole on the side to prevent excessive drinking. Lee Sang-min said, "I believe everyone knows the meaning of Gyeyeongbae. I sent it today, so it should arrive soon," adding, "It was a shocking recording. There are more than a few things to imitate with voice impressions."
The recording mentioned by Lee Sang-min appears to refer to the recording recently released by conservative YouTube channels such as 'Sinihan Su' and 'Hongcheolgi TV'. The recording contains a conversation mixed with profanity in which a person presumed to be Jang, the party leader is heard during a drinking session.
Meanwhile, Lee Sang-min previously made headlines for sending five packs of 50 straws to Gyeonggi Province Governor Choo Mi-ae, who had remarked that the fire service is a "straw." He also revealed that on the 19th, he sent straws to Rep. Boo Seung-chan of the Democratic Party of Korea, who had caused controversy by saying that the fire service "drains the finances."
