[Financial News] RaonPeople has returned to cumulative operating profitability through the third quarter, driven by increased sales in its golf sensor and generative AI businesses. The company said profitability improved as revenue growth in its core businesses coincided with greater cost efficiency.
RaonPeople disclosed on the 21st that, on a non-consolidated basis, it recorded third-quarter revenue of 3.75 billion won and operating profit of 1.18 billion won. Revenue rose 58.6% from the same period a year earlier, while operating profit increased to about four times the previous quarter’s level. After posting profits for consecutive quarters, the company also returned to cumulative operating profitability through the third quarter.
Higher sales in key businesses, including golf sensors and generative AI, drove the improvement in results. As it expanded supplies to overseas markets such as North America and Australia, the golf business recorded cumulative revenue of 4.18 billion won through the third quarter of this year, an increase of about 380% from the same period a year earlier.
The generative AI business targeting public-sector and corporate markets also continued to grow. According to the company, revenue from its generative AI platforms HI FENN and ODIN AI rose 816% and 920%, respectively, from the same period a year earlier.
The company is also continuing to participate in government R&D projects related to AI transformation (AX). RaonPeople is pursuing technology development and seeking business opportunities, including through its participation in the national project “Physical AI SDF Specialized Foundation Model R&D,” with a total project budget of 70.2 billion won.
Management efficiency measures launched last year also contributed to the improved results. Under an emergency management system, the company has wound down less profitable businesses and concentrated its organization and resources on core businesses such as AI and golf. The company said the impact of adjusting its cost structure alongside revenue growth was reflected in this quarter’s profitability.
A RaonPeople representative said, “As growth in our golf sensor and generative AI products gains momentum, improvements in our results are becoming visible. We will strengthen the competitiveness of our core businesses and maintain an efficient cost structure to continue our profitable trend in the fourth quarter as well.”
