【Financial News, Suncheon = Reporter Hwang Tae-jong】Suncheon City said on the 21st that Suncheon Bay National Garden had surpassed 3 million visitors for the third consecutive year, proving itself to be South Korea's leading ecotourism destination.
It emphasized that visitors had continued to flock to the garden even after the 2023 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo, establishing it as a sustainable tourist attraction.
A Suncheon City official emphasized, "Surpassing 3 million visitors for three consecutive years is a meaningful achievement that shows more people are appreciating the value of the garden," adding, "It is even more noteworthy that, as time passes, more visitors understand the garden's value and come here of their own accord."
According to Suncheon City, the cumulative number of visitors to Suncheon Bay National Garden this year surpassed 3 million on the 18th.
This was possible because the garden's role has expanded beyond offering beautiful flowers and trees and scenery that changes with the seasons to serving as a place where people can experience rest and healing in nature and find a sense of ease for body and mind.
Suncheon City plans to develop the garden into a space grounded in ecology where rest, healing, education and culture come together, linking its value to the revitalization of the local economy.
In particular, the city plans to expand offerings that encourage longer stays and connect the garden with local businesses so that visitors venture to every corner of the region, developing it into a garden that residents and tourists alike seek out in their daily lives and a space that will lead the city's future.
A Suncheon City official said, "We will continue to develop Suncheon Bay National Garden into a place of healing where people can restore their tired bodies and minds and gain new vitality."
