[Financial News] Volkswagen will unveil in Daegu the Volkswagen Golf GTI Dark Moss Limited Edition, of which only 100 units will be released in Korea. The special edition commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Golf GTI and the 20th anniversary of its launch in Korea. The actual vehicle will be shown to local customers ahead of its official launch this November. The electric SUV Volkswagen ID.5 and the large SUV Atlas will also be on display as Volkswagen seeks to make inroads into the Daegu–North Gyeongsang market.
GNB Automobile, an authorized Volkswagen dealer, said it would participate in the 2026 Korea Future Mobility Expo (DIFA 2026), taking place at the East Wing of Daegu EXCO from the 21st to the 24th, and exhibit three of its key models.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is the Golf GTI Dark Moss Limited Edition. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the Golf GTI is Volkswagen’s flagship high-performance model, combining the practicality of a hatchback with dynamic driving performance. The limited edition also commemorates the 20th anniversary of the model’s launch in Korea and is scheduled to launch in Korea in November, with only 100 units available.
The model is distinguished from the existing Golf GTI by its exclusive Dark Moss Green exterior color. A Black Exterior Package comprising a black roof, side mirrors and front trim strip emphasizes the limited edition’s distinctive design. Visitors can inspect the car’s actual exterior color and interior layout firsthand at the exhibition booth.
The Volkswagen ID.5, a coupé-style all-electric SUV that showcases Volkswagen’s electrification strategy, and the large family SUV Atlas will also be on display. The exhibition brings together a range of vehicles aimed at different customer segments, from high-performance hatchbacks and electric vehicles to large SUVs.
Drawing on the automotive business experience of the G&B Group, established in 1992, GNB Automobile opened a Volkswagen showroom in Daegu’s Suseong-gu district in 2009 and began operating as an authorized dealer. It has since expanded into new-car sales, maintenance and the supply of genuine parts, and opened a showroom in Changwon in July last year.
GNB Automobile currently operates showrooms in Daegu and Changwon and has service centers at four locations: Ihyeon and Dusan in Daegu, Pohang, and Changwon. The company plans to use the exhibition to strengthen its connections with customers in the Daegu–North Gyeongsang region and expand opportunities to experience the brand.
