【Hanoi, Vietnam = Kim Jun-seok, correspondent】Samsung Electronics held a series of meetings with senior leaders of Quang Tri Province in central Vietnam to discuss expanding local corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and potential investments in the area.
According to local sources on the 21st, Na Gi-hong, head of the Strategy and Cooperation Office at Samsung Electronics Vietnam, visited Quang Tri Province in central Vietnam on the 20th and met with newly appointed provincial Party Committee Secretary Vương Quốc Tuấn.
Na congratulated Tuấn on taking office and expressed gratitude, saying that Samsung Electronics had been able to continue growing steadily in the region thanks to the Vietnamese central and local governments promptly addressing difficulties on the ground and improving the investment environment. He said, “Samsung plans to significantly expand its CSR activities to support young people and foster community ties in central Vietnam, including Quang Tri Province.”
During the visit, Samsung Vietnam awarded scholarships to two students in Quang Tri Province who have overcome adversity and pursued their studies. Na asked provincial authorities to cooperate so that community support projects could be carried out effectively, and emphasized that Samsung would actively consider suitable investment opportunities in the province in the future.
Tuấn said Quang Tri Province has a strategic location, transport infrastructure nearing completion, and an ecosystem of industrial parks and economic zones. He added that the province has development potential in clean and renewable energy, offshore natural gas, and the advanced materials and mineral processing industries, and said it was also focusing on workforce training to meet businesses’ needs.
Tuấn said he hoped Samsung Vietnam would consider investment opportunities in Quang Tri Province, and called for particular interest in clean energy, high-tech industries, and research and development (R&D) in advanced materials. He also proposed expanding cooperation in social welfare, education, and workforce training.

Na said that during the visit, Samsung Electronics had worked with Vietnam’s state broadcaster VTV to film the charity program “Leaves of Love” (Cặp lá yêu thương) and award scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. He added that the company would continue strengthening its CSR activities to support young people in central Vietnam, particularly in Quang Tri Province.
Phương outlined the tourism potential of Quang Tri Province, including its natural scenery and cave systems, and invited Na and Samsung Vietnam executives to visit Son Doong Cave, one of the world’s largest caves. He also proposed deepening mutual exchanges and cooperation.
