[Financial News] Former Content Wavve CEO Lee Tae-hyun has been selected as the final candidate for the next KBS president.
According to KBS, the board held an extraordinary meeting on the 20th and selected Lee, the former CEO, as its candidate for the 28th president, recommending the appointment to the president.
The board conducted final interviews with the three candidates recommended on the 17th by the Public Recommendation Committee for President Candidates, then held a vote. Lee received at least three-fifths of the votes among the 10 sitting directors.
The two directors recommended by the People Power Party, Lee Kang-deok and Jang Han-sik, who were appointed on the 19th, joined the board that day, and all 10 sitting directors were present. However, the two directors requested a postponement of the vote. When that request was rejected, they left just before the vote.
Lee, who graduated from Korea University's Department of Philosophy, joined KBS as a producer in 1994. Lee later served as head of KBS's Content Business Bureau, CEO of Content Wavve, and CEO of the Hanam Cultural Foundation, among other roles.
